CANADIAN
ORGANIZATIONS WILL CONTINUE TO INVEST HEAVILY
IN IT SECURITY, SAYS IDC CANADA

6, 2006 – IT Security
remains a priority for Canadian organizations
as the market for IT security hardware, software
and services grew 16.6% between 2004 and 2005.
"Medium and large organizations in particular
have begun to invest in a more holistic approach
to IT security," says Joe Greene, Vice
President of IT Security Research with IDC
Canada.
"They're no longer just reactive," says
Greene.
"Organizations are looking beyond the
immediate threats like virus attacks, spam
and security breaches and are embracing solutions
for spyware, perimeter defence, patching, policies
and identity management as ways to proactively
safeguard their business."
IDC Canada indicates that spending is currently
at $949 million and with a CAGR of 14.2% it
is expect to reach $1.8 billion by 2010.

of forecasts looking at 16 key segments of

each market in 2005 and provide a 2006-2010
