Vito Mabrucco is responsible for managing IDC's US and Worldwide Consulting Group. IDC's worldwide consulting offerings represent a significant value proposition to IDC's clients in helping them solve both strategic and tactical business challenges. In addition, Vito Mabrucco manages IDC's Canadian operations as the Managing Director and is a member of IDC's global management committee.
Vito Mabrucco has strong insight into the global information and communications technology industry with a focus on the value of technology, market business models, key vertical segments, and global industry trends and directions. His insights include a deep understanding of disruptive innovation business models as well as evolving global dynamics and how it applies to the overall technology industry. An outspoken participant and supporter of the IT industry, Vito provides his perspective and analysis through formal speaking engagements, written documents, media interviews and other public events.
A twenty-five year veteran of the information and communications industry, Vito Mabrucco has held senior management portfolios in sales, marketing, finance and strategic planning with major global technology companies such as IBM, Tandem/Compaq, Dell and Cisco.
Vito Mabrucco, a graduate of the University of Waterloo, is on the board of the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC), is a member of the Campaign Committee for the United Way, and he is actively involved in his community.

Over the past two decades, Loren has
held senior sales and marketing positions
with Xerox, Sharp and Dell Computer.
Loren also held a senior portfolio management
and funding position at Triathlon Leasing
and was instrumental in the launch of
Sharp Canada's national account sales
program and leasing division, Sharp Finance.
Loren joined IDC Canada in 2002 and most
recently served as Vice President of
Enterprise Accounts where he held responsibility
for managing sales of IDC's IT and Telecommunications
market research and consulting services
to a select group of IDC's largest enterprise
clients.
Chris Sullivan, Vice President, Finance & Operations
Chris Sullivan oversees all aspects of finance, accounting, research operations, human resources and information technology at IDC Canada and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team. He is also is the manager and lead analyst for the Canadian ICT Executive Service, which provides a management perspective on the trends shaping the Canadian Information and Communications Technology Market.
When he joined IDC's Global Software Business Strategies Group in 1999, Chris Sullivan advised clients worldwide on partnering strategies, after which he assumed increasing responsibility for IDC Canada's internal operations. Prior to IDC he managed the Enterprise Products Group at Compaq Canada, after holding marketing and business operations positions with the company.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.
Lars Goransson, Vice President, IDC Canada Consulting
Lars Goransson is Vice President of IDC Canada's Consulting Group and is responsible for managing large custom research projects and proprietary consulting activities with IDC's clients. Mr. Goransson specializes in strategic planning, market assessments, and partner analyses within the IT industry. Mr. Goransson works closely with IDC analysts and subject matter experts to manage projects through every stage.
Mr. Goransson is a member of IDC Canada's Senior Leadership Team.
Mr. Goransson joined the Consulting Group following over seven years in a variety of senior analyst and management roles at IDC Canada. Most recently, Lars managed the Canadian Services Research team at IDC. Since joining IDC Canada in 1996, Mr. Goransson has conducted comprehensive, large-scale primary research into key areas of the Canadian IT market such as application outsourcing, customer relationship management, and customer segments like SMB.
Mr. Goransson holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Business and Administration and Economics from the Gothenburg School of Economics in Gothenburg, Sweden. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a member of the Canadian Association of Management Consultants (CAMC).
Sebastien Ruest, Vice President, Infrastructure, Software and Services Group
As Vice President, Services & Technology Research, Sebastien Ruest is responsible for leading IDC's research in the Services & Technology marketplace. Mr. Ruest heads a seasoned team of analysts who cover the broad range of IT related infrastructure, software and services, from Consulting and Integration, Application Services, Infrastructure Optimization, Virtualization, Unified Communication and the growing Global Delivery Models, such as Outsourcing and Managed Services. In addition, his team focuses on the market for solutions such as ERP, BI, CRM & SCM and Middleware.
Mr. Ruest also heads IDC's IT service benchmark practice and works with vendors and IT users to measure the efficiencies and cost-effectiveness of service delivery. Sebastien and his team leverage a combined 50 years of selling and delivering services when developing business cases, ROI, TCO and pricing to provide market insight and guidance to IDC's clients.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Ruest had close to 10 years experience in corporate strategy, sales & marketing and research at IBM. Most recently, Mr. Ruest was a member of IBM�s Americas Market Intelligence Group, where he led a team responsible for providing insights into opportunities, buyer behaviour and competitive environments for IBM Canada. Mr. Ruest began his career with IBM Global Services as the project leader of a large team responsible for designing Global Contact Centre Outsourcing solutions.
Mr. Ruest holds a Masters of Business Administration from the Edinburgh School of Business. He also holds a Masters of Science degree and a bachelor�s degree, both from McGill University. He is fluent in French.
Tony Olvet, Vice President, Communications, Segments, Mobility, Clients
Tony Olvet is the Vice President of communications, segments, mobility and client hardware research domains at IDC Canada. He is responsible for managing the business, research direction and analysis for telecommunication services, wireless, PC, printer, partnering and customer market segments. Tony also represents the Insights business in Canada, and is a member of IDC Canada's Senior Leadership Team.
The research and analysis led by Tony Olvet provides technology vendors and service providers with guidance on marketing and sales strategies to tackle the rapidly evolving ICT market. The team of analysts that Tony manages examines technology product and service adoption, buyer needs and strategies, industry developments, market forecasts, SMB and channel partner strategy, and consumer technology usage. IDC Canada's Insights research covers the Financial Services, Government, and Healthcare vertical markets.
Prior to leading these research domains, Tony Olvet was a Senior Consultant at IDC and Director of the Canadian Partnering and Alliances research program. Since joining IDC, he has managed numerous services and custom projects including the first comprehensive consumer services study in Canada, analysis of wireless and mobile business services, co-launched IDC's global High Performance Partnering workshop series, and managed over a dozen customer loyalty and satisfaction studies.
Tony Olvet holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Waterloo, and a Masters degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in economic geography.
As Vice President, Marketing Services, Joanne Haywood is responsible for leading IDC's Go-to-Market Services.
In this role Joanne is responsible for managing and developing IDC Go-to-Market Services, a team dedicated to helping IDC clients strengthen content-based marketing programs, from integrated web programs to full custom events. Ms. Haywood also participates in IDC's ongoing international marketing services forum to explore and define the firm's next generation go-to-market services.
Joanne joined IDC in September of 2003 and has over 16 years in the technology market. She has worked in a variety of senior executive sales and marketing positions. Prior to IDC, she served as VP Marketing and Sales for a start-up ultraviolet technology firm where she developed a comprehensive sales, marketing and channel strategy to commercially launch the company's ultraviolet systems throughout North America. Joanne also ran her own marketing consulting practice, focused on assisting emerging technology organizations with their market objectives by analyzing existing sales and marketing strategies and tactics, to reposition organizations to better capitalize on target market characteristics and requirements.
Joanne was also an IDC customer, in her role as Director of Marketing for J.D. Edwards where she managed a national marketing budget and team, responsible for creating and executing strategic marketing programs. Joanne began her career in technology sales for Teleglobe, and prior to that a financial services and security technology company, Kasten Chase (formerly TIL).
Joanne holds an International MBA from Institute Superieur de Gestion, studying in Paris; Pace University, New York; and the International Management University of Asia, Tokyo. She graduated with a BA from Queen's University, Kingston, ON. An 'acting' Professor with the University of Toronto Business Management Program, Joanne taught Introduction to Marketing for 3 years. In addition, Joanne was an Advisor for Queen's University Executive MBA, to review and mentor students' new venture and consulting projects.
